Partnering with TCR UK Teams’ Champions WestCoast Racing in a Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR for the season-concluding double header, Sutton got his second taste of TCR machinery after piloting the Verizon Connect Racing Honda Civic Type R to a double victory at Oulton Park in June. The 24-year old was in superb form from the outset, qualifying a respectable fifth and sixth in a bumper 32-car grid. A [...]

Ending on a high

Brands Hatch was all about signing the season off with on a positive note! The pace we set in both free practice seasons was a very good start to doing exactly that! Unfortunately we had a curve ball thrown in the mix after I had an accident into paddock hill bend. The throttle body failed and sent me sailing into the barrier at some speed! "Straight away we knew we had a fight on our hands getting the car ready for qualifying. The BMR boys did a Stirling job and having a complete front end with engine sat in the [...]

Title defence is over

The weekend was the make or break of the championship. Silverstone has always been the weakest circuit on the calendar for us, not forgetting how competitive the championship has got in the space of a year. “Unfortunately, the weekend took a turn for the worst and it soon became clear it was going to be difficult to stay in the hunt for the championship. Qualifying 25th on the grid was not the way I wanted to start Sunday off. After the situation that occurred on the day left us out of the championship come the end of Race 2, it [...]

Highs and Lows of Knockhill

“Saturday was a tough day, we hit the ground running in FP1 but that didn’t quite continue through into FP2 and qualifying. I was a little disappointed as to where we lined up in qualifying, we were inside the top ten but behind our two main rivals. “Sunday however was a different day; the heavens had opened and I knew our chances of scoring points became more hopeful! Race one couldn’t have gone much better, we got straight into the working window of the car and the pace was strong getting the win set us up nicely for the day. [...]

Big push for the title

‘The weekend was a very similar one to Snetterton. Going off the back of last year we had some solid results at Rockingham and I was aiming to relocate those results. ‘Qualifying didn't quite go to plan, we had a few different things on the car that we hadn't really tested before and we just never found the sweet spot with that package. Overnight we had a good think about what we could do and we went back to what we knew and it just brought the car alive come race day. ‘Race one was about moving forward after not the [...]

Mixed emotions at Snetterton

By |2018-07-30T16:30:22+00:00July 30th, 2018|Race Reports|0 Comments

Saturday "Its was great to get back out after the summer break. Being completely honest I left the tyre test unsure of how we where going to fare up come qualifying. Conditions weren't great on Saturday and it made it hard to find the sweet spot in the setup but for sure we definitely maxed everything once it came to qualifying. I was very pleased with Q1 putting it P9 for the opening racing on Sunday. However I was a little disappointed with the qualifying for the Diamond Double, this wasn't down to anything myself or the team had done but, [...]
