Sutton set for Silverstone Classic

By |2018-07-20T12:10:10+00:00July 20th, 2018|News|0 Comments

Ashley is set for the Silverstone Classis on the 21/22 of July. He has been invited to drive David Leslie's Super Tourer 1996 Honda Accord at the famous event by owner Paul Whight. The car is prepared and run by John Danny Motorsport.   "I can't wait to have a taste of such well engineered machinery, back in the day the budgets to run these cars where through the roof. There was no real cap to what you could do so the engineering that went into not just the car but also the engine, these engines are built on a [...]

Back on top, new ‘King of Croft’?

“The biggest thing from the weekend was the improvement to the car from what the team has been doing back at base.  The effort from Oulton Park to now has shown in the gains we have made in that short time and the slight boost adjustment is a very small part of that.  It’s very positive having myself and Jason at the sharp end of the grid with strong pace but part of that was due to the fact that we were at a rear wheel drive circuit which made our lives much easier for qualifying and race one with [...]

Thruxton wasn’t kind

By |2018-05-23T20:48:55+00:00May 22nd, 2018|Race Reports|0 Comments

Hampshires circuit wasn't so kind to both Team BMR and to Ashley. It is the fast circuit on this seasons calendar which isn't exactly the strongest point at the moment for the Subaru Levorg and its Swindon Powertrain. After setting blistering pace at the Thruxton Test during DMR program it was a different story come race weekend. "I knew the weekend was never going to be plain sailing like the test. For starters you never know how you really stand up in comparison to others. For example, what ballast they are running aswell as their engine performance. The other huge [...]

Fighting at Donington Park

By |2018-05-10T09:55:54+00:00April 30th, 2018|Race Reports|0 Comments

Donington was a strong track for us last year regarding the cars cornering performance and it was very much the same this year. Saturday was a little bit of a dramatic day for the team though. Unfortunately, after my first run during FP2 we picked up an engine noise which left the Swindon guys concerned. Both Swindon and the team made a bold decision to change engines before Qualifying, this was always going to be a tough ask in such a short period of time but man its good watching them work as one. I can't thank the boys enough [...]

Brands Hatch was Points Scoring

By |2018-05-10T09:55:09+00:00April 9th, 2018|Race Reports|0 Comments

Overall we were punching above our weight this weekend.  We went in with expectations of a top fifteen but to come away with a 7th, 12th and 4th we definitely overachieved.  With the amount of testing we’ve had we’ve certainly got a lot of work to do but I’m confident that the boys back at BMR Headquarters will be doing their bit behind the scenes to get us to where we need to be. "It’s a good start to my campaign to defend the title to be 5th in the Championship and 26 more points ahead of where we were [...]
